[BC] WFXL TV Tower

Just got back from Doerun GA....MAN what an experience!!!! The buildings survived except for one air-conditioning unit on the WFXL tx building...that is amazing......everything looked great at first, the FXL fell away from the ALB tower but an errant guy wire with a BIG load on it wrapped around one of the ALB guy wires and that was all it took. Clyde Scott from CC Albany, Randy Moore from CC Tallahassee and I went up to the site this afternoon to watch....I was tipped off this morning at 10am by a tower contractor that they were going to blow the FXL tower at 6pm....it went down at 6:17.....you won't believe the reason for the delay.....there is a large chicken farming operation on the access road past the site and they had one more load of chickens to take out before they could set off the charges...the chicken farm was well away from the site but they were afraid the road would be blocked by debris if they waited until the tower was down so they quickly loaded the chickens on the 18 wheeler and got it out of the way....I took some stills but the WALB video does a better job....I was too busy watching the towers fall to keep my camera clicking (and aimed correctly) I have about 3 or 4 good hi-res shots of it coming down.
 
The power company removed all the transformers and power lines going to the site this morning and Bill Williams, the CE of WALB told me they took as much equipment out of the building today as they could....mainly test equipment and some other items. They didn't have much time.
