And I remember Jess well -- his was S/N 131 shipped 10/17/61 --
Another "great" Jess was Jess Swicegood -- WDIG Dothan, Al. -- He built one
of the first ones
-- 12/05/60 -- liked it so much he became our top salesman. Most of the
707's in Alabama,
Georgia and North Florida were sold by JS -- he had a retired army
olonel -- Havard
Rawlinson (ex-Signal Corps) who would travel with him to do the transmitter
checkout
(a factory requirement before the nameplate was issued) and a new base
impedance
measurement (required by the FCC).
