My understanding was that Maury did indeed build the 4 tower 50 kW DA-D  site 
complete with 50 kW tx. He ran it briefly for the proof, but realized  the 
improvement in coverage was marginal to support the much larger power  bill so 
then decided to bail out on the project, resell the land to recoup  expenses 
and drop back to the old 10 kW 2 tower DA-D site. John Bisset built and  proofed 
the new site for Maury and could comment on the details.
