Same for the Zenith-DBX,  TV stereo since it was "de-factor  approval",  no 
system was FCC approved,  but any system could be  used for TV stereo but none 
could interfere with the Zenith-DBX  system.  
 
Of course right away, it is my understanding that  RCA/GE-Thompson,  cloned 
their own DBX chip to avoid royalties.
