>From the looks of all these comments being filed by individuals that are
for the public file to be keep in it's current form are people employed
or paid by a station or (corporate group) to do so, or they are a
alternate inspector for the state's alternate inspection programs. Your
comments to the commission make you sound like your scare of your job
security.

Today's economic situation plays a role in how much a station can do in
public service. I've said this many times on this list....Public Service
comes with a price tag! There are many, and I mean many, dark AM
stations because small business in the community could not afford to
advertise with a station or it doesn't rate in the arbitron book. Plus,
people of the community (and I run into this problem many times) think
you should give it to them for free, and they shouldn't be charged for
their ads, especially these, so called PR Firms that call stations every
day with press releases on businesses, wanting free ads!

I disagree. Recently I filed on a license renewal and the public file
was
quite helpful.

Usually it's an employee looking to trim the fat...

If a radio or TV station took the time and has a public file which meets
the
requirements and is up to date, more than likely they are accountable
for
things that matter over a situation where nobody keeps a public file. I

Hey, that's what you signed up for when you purchased the station. The
public file is nothing new.
