A-ha, and here lies the $1000 question...what is "community service"?  If
a significant portion of the population is tuning into your station, it
only stands to reason they're finding something they want!  High school
football isn't all that big a deal around here, but I understand it's a
huge draw in some parts of the country.  Whether it's local sports or the
top 40 hits, if people tune to your station, you must be serving them. 
Why should "community service" programming be dry stuff like church
services or interviews with the county sewer commissioner?  Does anyone
really want to hear that stuff?  The audio equivalent of "eat your brussel
sprouts...you may not like them, but they're good for you".
