Hey Dave,

We had the same deal here, where WHIN and WMRO were carrying the
same high school football game, Gallatin Senior High. WHIN has been
broadcasting Gallatin High School Football since about 1950 when it
signed on. At the time I bought WMRO, there was only one high school in
Gallatin. In 2001, a second high school opened up in Gallatin, called
Old Station Camp High School.

The particular station I was referring to had a 24 hour 250 Watt
authorization in a town of 4000 people south of Odessa, Texas. They had authority for
24 but normally operated 6 AM till 6 PM except for Friday nights Football and
Basketball and selected little league baseball games in the summertime. This
was 1959. The were on a Class IV channel and didn't even need the 1 kW for
daytime.
