When I was CE at rocker 13-WAVZ (New Haven, CT) we
dumped off the air. We had a TRC-15. When I got to
the tx, I put the unit in Local and we came back on the
air. When I listened to the dedicated phone line I
heard the classic bee-boo of a 'sounder', meaning a
telco tech was working on the line. I jumped over the
FCC-required interlock and went back to the studio.

I met with Dan Kops, one of the owners and explained
that we were essentially in violation of FCC Rules,
that SNET was informed they cannot interfere with our
circuits, etc. He asked for the circuit info. The
following morning a SNET Supervisor and two cable
techs arrived. They were to red tag EVERY POTS and
radio circuit we have. Mr. Kops called his friend,
the President of SNET who demanded all our SNET lines
be red tagged....

I had a TRC-15 that intermittently hit every LOWER
relay. I disconnected all the sensitive contacts, opened
the FP drawer. Just tapping on the top PC board made
the ralays jump. I found that the large chip in the
front of the unit had sockets with no plastic
shell. I removed the chip, cleaned the pins with an
eraser, and sprayed the sockets with contact cleaner.
Carefully inserting and removing the chip to clean
the sockets solved the problem.
