If a system saves lives, it is good. But.....A couple of weeks
ago I was watching the news (WCBS-TV ch 2) out of NYC.
I usually watch NYC evening news and CT news at 11 pm.
Every 5 minutes the news was interrupted by NWS thunderstorm
warnings for Hartford, then Tolland Counties. These are 50+
miles away! The TV news was providing me with more
accurate, up to date info than the NWS. Even AFTER the
warnings expired, every 5 minutes the audio and video were
interrupted. Of course, this happened on ALL cable channels,
not just ch2. This kind of stuff casts a bad shadow on EAS.

The cable system I have does NOT serve either Hartford or
Tolland counties.
