[BC] FAA RF rulemaking

I would check the FCC listing, then using the FAA
number there, double check the FAA study. Does your
broadcast license have any stipulation?

If all those are negative, I would send a certified mail
letter to your local airport manager advising him that
seeing as you are not required to light the tower, you
will be turning those lights off on a certain date. I would
ask him to post that notification at the airport.

You can't send that letter to too many people! cover
yourself!

Yea, I ment TOWAIR. I'm still half asleep this morning. It does have a
FCC ID number because when all that tower registration crap started, it
wasn't made clear if we had to register it or not, so I went ahead and
registered it with the commission. I am 4 miles from the Gallatin
Airport, and there is another AM tower, 1/4 mile from me, WYXE-AM, where
their tower is at 195', not lit, nor registered.

TOWARDS? I think you mean TOWAIR?

Does your tower presently have a FCC ID number? Has it had
an FAA Determination?

Here's a question I need to know. I know it's sounds stupid, but I need
to know who to call as far as the FAA is concerned to find out it my
tower is suppose to be lit or not.
I used the TOWARDS program on the FCC site, and it says no lighting
required. My license doesn't mention anything about lighting, nor
painting. I just want to cover myself on this before I take the lights
off my 150' tower. I have found I will save $$$ on the AC bill if I
leave the lights off!
