It think you are right about the 100-ft.  Wavelength at 1340 is 223.8 
meters. CDBS says their tower has an electrical length of 49 degrees.

(223.8 * 49)/360 = 30.47 meters or essentially 100 feet. They claim 
241 mV/m @ 1 km.

I suppose there is excellent ground conductivity to help their 
coverage.
