Justin,
I didn't realize Jim had a newer version of the spider. I'll have to
try that out.

Scott, I talked with Jim today and he edited the code while I was on the
phone with him. I think the problem is that we were transferring the
audio
onto the SS32 and it was leaving the mp3 along with the wav ... His fix
was
to delete the MP3, which was what SS suggested.

Hopefully that fixes it... Either way, I'm impressed with Jim's
customer
service.

As for the audio appending to itself, it could have been the audio
converter, however, Jim said that he has recently replaced the converter
with a different one. The new version is on the site for download I
would
check it out.

I'll let you know if I found out anything.

Justin,
I've been having problems with it downloading files from a certain ftp
site we get a news download feed from Metro Networks in Nashville. The
spider seems to time out on us because it takes up to 30-60 seconds for
the
ftp site to open. That's the way Jim Turbo & Gibson Prichard has it
set,
for some reason. The spider seems to only work with Larry Usher's
Weather
Site because it's downloading from a public web page.
I think it's time to report this problem to Jim Barcus, and have his
programmers look into it. I'm sure if Jim finds out there is a problem,
his
programmers at DJB can fix it!
Oh by the way, I had the same problem you are encountering 2 weeks
ago. It
would try to put the new cut in front of the old, making the whole file
nearly 50 seconds.

For the past week I have been downloading a weather forecast in MP3 form
using software from RadioSpiders.com, it converts it to a 44100 Wav, and
places it in the network directory... I'm having issues in the fact
that
sometimes rather than overwriting the original file, it actually appends
itself to the current file with the new audio in front of the old.

What am I doing wrong, and is there a better way?

Also, the overnight forecast, same file type and sampling, froze up both
systems... I re-booted, started SS32 and it froze immediately...
Deleted
the mp3 temp and the converted wav and it started great. The new
forecast
that I downloaded worked fine.

Any thoughts, has someone already tackled this problem?
