[BC] to light or not to light

Wayne,
You know, the answer to all of this is site sharing. On a good size,
self supporting tower in a small community, you can put up several cell
antennas, police and fire antennas, shunt feed the local AM station into
it, etc.
If local zoning boards can get everybody on the same page, and can
be done economically, it's a win/win for everybody!

There is a malady within communities who do not plan ahead, when they
refuse
to approve a cell tower on NIMBY grounds, while their own police and
fire
departments are using cell phone service.

Yep, and like I said, when their cell phones, and two-way emergency
radios won't work, they only have themselves to blame!

While this is true to a point, many towns have tried to be
very unreasonable - even to the point of restricting towers
outright. (Although most seem to make an exception if you
want to put the tower on city land - so the city can make some
money)
Those towns are losing in court when the cases get drug to
court.
