[BC] Zoning issues

I find it highly illogical that local zoning boards can stop a federally
licensed project. We all know that radio towers often must go within a
specific geographical area. A local zoning board refusal basically scraps
the project. I ran into this a lot when I worked for LifeTalk Radio and
assisted a number of LPFM's trying to get on the air. Too many NIMBY's and
BANANA's out there.

The Federal Government has no qualms about precedence over local and state
laws in other matters; why are they so timid in this area? IMO, this is
exactly the kind of thing the FCC NEEDS to be involved in. Methinks the fix
is in somewhere.

The Feds sure don't mind stepping in concerning your medical choices and
marriage preferences.
