What it really means is an industry whose employment is shrinking instead of
growing. An industry that people, (especially engineers) are getting out of
(and not getting into).

It's a very sick industry. A dying industry.

And the bean counters have succeeded in killing it.

Radio's prognosis is not good.....

Consolidated radio today seems to be about getting the most money for
the very few at the top as they attempt to go private. Once there's a
bigger mortgage on the company we'll see even more firings, more
voicetracking, smaller newsrooms and more stations added to each
engineer's responsibility.
