[BC] Vonage (etc) vs copper dial line

It's Verizon's fiber optic system. Can't speak of the phone service,
haven't needed a home phone in years, but the tv package and internet
service are supurb. In nearly two years have only lost service for one
brief period during heavy storms that knocked out power transformers and the
internet speed is high and dependable. Faster at what I have at the office
with multiple T1 lines.

Neither have I, but I still have a couple "just in case". Just-in-case
just hasn't happened here (yet).

What is FIOS? This sounds something akin to when TELCO removed all our
dry lines in favor of fiber a while back. A scramble to see what electronic
magic box would replace all the copper transmitter links. As it turned out
CC
consolidation of 6 stations into one building and STLs solved that problem.

Dave Dunsmoor - It's +14 out so I'm going for a walk to get a Starbucks...
