That's what I noticed, as well... extremely LOUD crowd noise with the effect 
of having it echoing inside my skull. VERY annoying! (This coming from the TV 
set's built-in speakers, BTW!) As soon as I switched the set to MONO, the 
problem went away and the commentators were clear.

They need to remember that *not everyone* is watching in a home theater with 
multi-speaker systems and decoders. I'm sure that the *majority* of people 
watching are fortunate to have "plain stereo" from the TV set, like we do.
