[BC] DTV is delayed...

Note that at the bottom of the first page it reads; "[acting FCC
chairman, Michael J.] Copps said that 143 broadcasters have already
terminated their analog signals and another 60 stations plan to do so
before Feb. 17."

That is 203 who plan to be off BEFORE February 17.

The real issue is the spectrum to be freed up for "Public Safety"
radio systems, and that spectrum "sold" at auction.

Then again, the new Public Safety radio systems seem to be a serious
failure so far. For example, M/A-COM's Open Sky systems in New York
state (canceled and in litigation BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET THE VOICE
PART TO WORK), and a similar system in Milwaukee.

Don't worry about the vendors though, they are making a LOT of money
on this. Even in my small county, Motorola is raping us again for
another roughly $50,000,000.00!
