In defense, a live mix for broadcast under these conditions is
an extremely difficult thing to pull off becuase there is no real world
rehersal possible.
The musicians in the E Street Band were pre-recorded. They were miming to
the track while Bruce actually sang live. At least that's what one of the
rockers reported tonight on the radio.
Why pre-record the band? Because in the short amount of time allotted for
setup there was no way to actually complete a fully miked setup. Apparently,
this is how the halftime show has been done for years.
Bruce singing live to a pre-recorded track --- halftime karaoke! If any of
this needs revised, please feel free to offer a correction.
