That's a very good point! There is something to be said for "stuff that 
works". I prefer the horseshoe design because it DOES place everything within easy 
arm's reach. Although I have pretty long arms (greater-than 6' span) most 
people don't. I'm also more a "traditionalist" when it comes to certain things. 
Utilitarian. Functional. Simple. Those are my primary concerns when it comes to 
the workplace. People are always free to "spruce things up" with, photos, 
posters, curtains, etc.

Some time ago, I remember reading how a radio studio should have somewhat of 
a "clubhouse" atmosphere to it. I'm sure a lot of the old top-40 and rock 
stations did! I've seen a few pix that would fit this description, too. :)

Someone else in this thread mentioned a design that had the wires all 
exposed... UGH! No, I wouldn't want that! Up under the table, in a trough so they are 
easily accessable but not readily visible, YES!
