That's what happened to me when I moved from a 3 phase site to another 
one to accommodate a city of license change and downgrade. Had an 
Armstrong 10kw rig, which was originally set up for 3 phase when 
ordered, since that's what we had at the old site. The cost to overhaul 
the tx would have been prohibitive. Oncor (the area utility company in 
North Texas) wanted 14k up front to bring in 3 phase to the site. I said 
no, and bought a used Kay T4000 from a retired broadcaster for 1k. Took 
some cleaning up, but so far, so good. Runs well. I can't say anything 
for the power bill (it's high down here) but the tx is happy and runs. 
When the transmitter site's happy, everyone's happy.
