Interesting development coming out of both Michigan and the DC area - according to a story in Inside Radio, Sima Birach Sr. (Birach Broadcasting Corporation of Detroit) has accused son Sima Jr. of "misrepresentations and potentially criminal behavior" - as the article puts it - in the creation of a Virginia-based company by the same name... which Sima Sr. did not know about! Lawsuits are being sent to daddy by companies he had never done business with. A BIA Financial appraisal combined the two individual endeavors, which allegedly was used by junior to misrepresent the company. Police reports have been filed in both states. In short, it's gonna get ugly.

Perhaps coincidentally, perhaps not, Birach Jr's WDMV(AM) Walkersville MD was off the air for the afternoon on Monday Feb 9.

I have had some personal experiences with the Maryland station, and I frankly do not rate it as a career highlight. I don't know how this is going to play out, but there are a number of DC area broadcasters and engineers who will be watching this closely and may chime in.
