Clay makes good points. I had one of these (a Kay Phasemaster) on a hilltop
site running an original BE FM30. Since the TX and tower was basically sitting
on a big rock, we were using a chemically enhanced ground system, (which made
a big difference with everything) but the TX used to lose rectifier stacks
every time a thunderstorm came through. We wooud up putting in a 3 phase
generator and auto swiching to it when lightning was in the area (this was
where I used the Am radio modified to be a 445 kHz receiver I discussed here
before). No more stacks lost after that.

I have couple comments about these critters.
1- If at all possible, get the power company to install real 3 phase.
2- Consider a transmitter that will operate on Single Phase.
