Smart thinking.

"Broadcasting" (of some type) will always be around but sadly, "radio" as we
knew it, no longer exists.

My wife and I are now attempting to operate a small (local ONLY) FM station
in a town of about 38,000 (including surrounding area residents). Each and
every time we make any attempt at anything truly "local", people are most
happy to call and advise us that "radio stations DO NOT do that!" (I'm
referencing local obits, birth announcements, lost dogs and even storm
warnings!)

Amazingly, after asking a few of these callers, we learn that they are
usually people who work for one (or more) of the "corporate stations" in the
nearby "big city".

Local truly IS dead. The public is now conditioned to accept the "worthless
jukebox mentality" in which radio stations are perceived as "the big IPOD
that cannot be programmed by ME whereas the one attached to me clothing
can".
