Poll Shows Declining Support For 'Fairness Doctrine'

Radio Fairness Doctrine Losing Steam
A RASMUSSEN REPORTS survey says that only 38% of American voters favor a return to the "Fairness Doctrine," with 47% opposed to the government imposing political "balance" on radio stations and 15% undecided.

Support for the doctrine declined from last AUGUST, when 47% said that they favor government-imposed "balance." But 51% of voters think that it is at least somewhat likely that Congress will re-impose the rule.

Other findings include that only 26% felt conservatives have an unfair media advantage, as opposed to 64% disagreeing (52% of liberals said conservatives have an advantage, while 79% of conservatives, 64% of moderates, and 53% of Democrats disagree).

If these figures are to be trusted, and Congress does vote to re-impose the FD, calling them "out of touch" would be much too kind.
