BTW - my First wasn't one of those six-week-wonders, either... I studied 
real engineering - well, applied engineering (didn't take structures, 
highways, etc., just the electrical / electronic stuff - and some HVAC 
just for fun); came within three hours (non-elective in the minor that I 
couldn't afford the lab expenses for...) of the BSET.

That was in 1980.  Then the FCC pulls the rug out from under.....
