The TV ran two antennas, and the FM was combined into the aural antenna.
The FM signal really sucked. I always wondered why they didn't
replace the aural antenna with a CP antenna. That would have served
two purposes. It would have made mobile reception work for the FM,
AND it would have made in car listening of Channel 6 work much better.
I used to spend a lot of time in Richmond, and I NEVER heard them
telling people they could listen in their cars. In other markets I
have heard Channel 6 stations run promos like, "Don't miss Channel 6
News at 6 just because you are not home yet. Tune to 87.7 on you car
radio."
Over Christmas I heard a radio station in the Philadelphia market
running promos stating you should listen to their news because
Channel 6 will soon be off FM!
