A Fluke model 80K 40 kV HV probe consists of a
Caddock Electric MG-185-3 999 meg resistor is series
with the tip to the + end of the banana plug. At the
low end of the resistor there is a 1.1 meg 1/2W resistor
to ground. Bear in mind this probe is intended for use
with the Fluke model 8060A DVM. Different resistors
would be used for differing values of Ohms-Per-Volt
meters. Not all HV probes are the same! Each one is
designed for use with a particular model of meter.
