IIRC, most of them go with the bend toward Pin 1 (to your left as you 
face the panel); but there are probably other configurations.  Contact 
your favorite parts distributor and ask if they have one with the bend 
toward pin 2.

The other solution would be to use normal connectors and leave the 
shells off.... IF this is in a permanent installation.  Or go into the 
mixer and bring everything out the back on a multi-core pigtail into a 
breakout box...

If it's for portable use, then you'll probably find that having the 
connectors on top is a time saver during setup and teardown.
