[BC] #10 bare copper

I've been planing a major build and here is my most current list of who
we're buying from:

Wire from Nehring Wire in Dekalb, IL
http://www.nehringwire.com

And strap from US Brass and Copper in Downers Grove, IL.
http://www.usbrassandcopper.com

Both places have competitive pricing.

Nehring sells mostly to electrical suppliers. But in multiples of 5000 ft.
spools, they'll sell direct with some coaxing. I have a quote from them
for 100K ft. at +/-$4/lb. for 110 half-hard bare. 32 ft. of #10 bare = 1
Lb of copper. $0.12 ft. They also sell bare #2 solid and stranded and 2/0
stranded per hundred weight.

US Brass cuts to order any size/width from 1/4" to 24"...which is the donor
reel size. Their breaks occur at 1000 and 2000lbs. total order. On small
orders, get the check-book out however as they price far better on bigger
orders due to sheer machine set-up. I always try to round up a bit and
order similar lengths to cut down on sheer costs and so that I have some
extra around for small projects. Plus get a better deal if I can get to
the next break point.

Since we're 1800 miles from your place, I'm sure there are places closer to
you which might produce a better deal after factoring shipping 600 lbs of
copper wire.
