I recall the photo, in one of the trades after the 1968 Convention, which showed the Phillips/Norelco PC-70 trained on NBC's Huntley & Brinkley.  I was totally surprised.
 
Actually,  WNBC Bought a Continental 317C2,  First.   Mike Bock was CE at the time.  I am certain the he influenced the purchase at WMAQ also.  I believe WLS had also purchased a 317C2 in Chicago.
