I auctioned off eleven BC transmitters, in rural
Edgemont SD, last August.  Most all were lovingly
restored to original factory condition and
converted to the ham bands.  There were several
Collins 20Vs, several Gates, a couple of RCAs and
a Bauer.  The auction was advertised, nationally,
in several venues.  I did this, pro bono, for the
widow of a ham radio buddy.  Each rig went for
less than $1,000.  Of course, it was up to the
buyer to transport the transmitter from that rural
location.  Many volunteers helped buyers load the
rigs into their trailers.  John Lyles, who has
been known to haunt this list, came up from New
Mexico and went home, much heavier.  He bought a
lot of big transformers, among other items.
