I doubt Imus could have distinguished between the two tx's without
prompting, his hearing was shot by at least 1984 from excessive headset
levels.
But the 317 did sound a bit cleaner, whereas the MW50 played just a
touch louder, even though measured distortion numbers were very close.
It and the trusty old 5R1 always worked reliably, and came up when
needed.
