Remember, *possible* or even *probable* death by electrocution is 
insufficient motivation to make them stop !! Even for a few feet of 
worthless aluminum. Ask your power company.
Tuesday, local vandals were removing "ground" wires at a power sub 
station, and took power out for a large area. Took 3 hours to get it 
repaired. They got away, this time. The best-case value of what they got 
at scrap was a few hundred dollars. For that, they risked death, caused 
traffic hassles, disrupted homes, caused  businesses to lose $ in a key 
shopping time. This wasn't "way out there", It was in a very 
residential/ business/ lite industrial part of town.

*ground* wires is what was reported on the news.
