Since the purpose of a translator is/was to re-broadcast another
station, I can't see why not !
Translator daisy-chains are common in the non-com market.

If ( as above ) a translator's purpose is to rebroadcast a station, and that
station does not have any of the above, I'd say not, BUT.....
Since the purpose of an AM translator is ( apparently ) *not* to
RE-broadcast a station, that's a good question !
