That was Terry Keeter, the reporter for the Meridian Star, who wanted to do
TV news. I hear he passed away in December 2005 while working for the
Memphis Commercial Appeal. I don't think he ever got back into TV after that
experience in Meridian.
He had a bad habit of running to the UPI machine to check on breaking news
during the commercial breaks and was always late getting back to the set. I
cured him of that one day. When the commercial break was over I went back to
the set and he was just swiveling around, clipping the lavalier mike to his
shirt and sitting down. He took it like a pro and I don't remember him being
late like that again. He was otherwise a great political newspaper reporter.
This would have been mid 1969.

Remember the newspaper reporter that had such a poor voice and delivery for
the "local" news? No names here. Do you remember when I lost the remote
trailer coming back from the Sunday bowling remotes with the guy in the
trailer? That was a real snot blowin' story, even today. Well worth a three
day suspension! I can get people to wet themselves when I tell that one.
