If you end up in court you may have a problem. A lawyer friend of
mine told me courts are even reluctant to accept digital photos.
They're too easily manipulated. You need to watch Judge Judy. She
made a comment about a photo looking phony. I also do photography and
don't quite understand their reasoning because, with a little extra
effort, a film negative can be modified either on the negative itself
or in printing. That's how photos were falsified before Photoshop.

We had a former NY State Supreme Court judge on WOR. In serious cases
they even require a specific color ink, according to him, usually
non-repro blue. My Garden Hotline guy at WOR, Ralph Snodsmith dresses
in green and carries a green pen - a sort of trademark. He's often
called on as an expert witness. He can't sign anything legal with a green pen.

Courts will accept faxes before they'll accept printed email as a
legal document. Email is too easily edited. It can be admitted as
evidence but it's always suspect. Any time I've dealt with attorneys
in important cases they've requested either the original document or
a fax. Emails and photocopies were for their internal use only and
rarely ever brought to court. Juries are very suspicious.
