Having started my career at lots of small stations, I can attest that what
you say is true--as far as it goes. Yes, lots of people want to HEAR the
games, but few people want to PAY to hear the games. I never knew of any
small-town station that got rich with local sports. Most of the time, they
were lucky if they could break even.
