Yes since the CBS fines,  I am amazed that even on the cable channels  they 
simple cut audio for quick edits.  I may be half watching a movie in  my hotel 
room and I hear the clipped audio,  look up and "get with the  program" again 
only to hear some more clipped audio.(Which gets my attention  more than the 
"hell or dam" words).
 
At least they used to edit the move by deleting the words or inserting  other 
words, now they clip or more irritating is the "beep tone".
 
I guess cable is figuring that since they are under watch for  must  carry,  
ala-carte channel packaging and cable rates,  they don't want  a FCC or 
Congressional hearing on "bad words" leading to RE-REGULATION by  the FCC.
