WGCL Now WNCX ran a Marti on freq repeater to get
over a tall building in down town Cleveland. The
long hop was about 12 miles as I recall. The
repeater put out a whopping 0.1 watt (tenth of a
watt) and it went the 12 miles with way more than
needed signal for full quieting. FM left, FM
right and AM mono with sub audible tones on AM
and SCA on one of the FM's. Of course we used a
10 ft xmit dish and a 4 ft receive dish.

Ran the Marti gear in a little elevator service
room off 12 volt batteries and trickle charged
the batteries because we could not get access to
the room during 'off hours'. Had a LPL phone line
to the room and phantom power to hold a relay for
fail safe operation. Current meter on relay power
supply at studio to show the loop was functional.
Back when you could get copper from point A to
point B. Ran on STA for years that way.
