I had a 1977 Dodge Colt, the radio antenna was the trunk lid.  I mounted my 
2 Meter 5/8 wave on the lid, and discovered I could have 2 meters or AM but 
not both at the same time.

The trunk lid worked pretty well for AM reception.

I had the aforementioned disaster with the fiberglass antenna being broken 
by the car wash with the result that I could only get AM reception if I 
could see the tower.
