Gary, When I inherited the 660 site from NBC, the MW50 was a little cranky, but that was mainly because of disuse.  There was also a very complicated motorized damper system tied to it with multiple staged thermostats, for which we never found any documentation. The salt-water marine environment on the island would cause the MW50 to deteriorate quickly if it just sat there, so I asked the tx supervisor to run the rig for an hour each week to keep it in shape. The same with the BTA-5R1 and both generators. Overall I think we had more problems with the 317C than we had with the MW50 although each rig was rather dependable as long as the maintainer understood both Doherty amplifiers and PDM.
